About The Position

The AC Hotel by Marriott Downtown Chicago is seeking a Housekeeper to join their team. In this role, you will help make guests feel at home by preparing rooms for the next guests, cleaning, restocking items, and helping keep all areas in the hotel clean, neat, and tidy. Requirements

• Previous experience in the same or a similar position at a full service hotel such as a guest room attendant, cleaner, or other housekeeping roles such as cleaning in hotels, hospitals, casinos or residential are preferred.
• Physical stamina to complete repetitive manual labor tasks.
• Must be able to lift, push, pull and or carry up to 50 lbs.
• Must be able to represent the company in a professional, well-groomed and courteous manner.
• Must be able to stand, walk, bend, kneel, lift, grasp, stretch, and use a vacuum and push a cart on a regular and extended basis.
• High school education or equivalent, basic English communication skills preferred.
• Has reliable transportation to and from work.
• Must be able to work a varied schedule to include days, evenings, weekends, holidays and the ability to work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Clean stay-over and check-out rooms, changing sheets and replenishing towels and amenities as needed.
• Thoroughly clean and inspect rooms, including bathtubs, toilets, sinks, walls, mirrors, tiles, counters, floors, and furniture paying close attention to details.
• Vacuum rooms, empty trash, restock amenities, and organize housekeeping closets.
• Respond quickly to guest requests, follow chemical safety rules, and handle hazardous materials properly.
• Report suspicious activities and hazardous conditions to Security; turn in found items to Lost and Found.
• Maintain high guest relation standards and assist with requests for additional items.
