About The Position

A Housekeeper in an assisted living community is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment for residents while following infection control and safety standards. The Housekeeper is responsible for cleaning resident apartments, common areas, and other facility spaces to ensure a sanitary, safe, and pleasant living environment. This position supports the health and well-being of residents by providing high-quality housekeeping services with professionalism, compassion, and respect.

Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and reach for extended periods.
  • Frequently lift and carry up to 30 pounds; occasionally up to 50 pounds with assistance.
  • Push and pull housekeeping carts and equipment.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Clean resident apartments, including bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchens, and living areas.
  • Dust, vacuum, sweep, mop, and sanitize floors and surfaces.
  • Clean and disinfect bathrooms, fixtures, and high-touch areas.
  • Empty trash and replace liners.
  • Make beds and change linens as scheduled or needed.
  • Clean windows, mirrors, and glass surfaces.
  • Maintain cleanliness of hallways, dining rooms, lounges, offices, and other common areas.
  • Restock housekeeping supplies and report inventory needs.
  • Follow infection prevention, safety, and OSHA guidelines.
  • Safely use cleaning chemicals and equipment according to facility policies.
  • Report maintenance issues, safety hazards, or resident concerns to the appropriate department.
  • Treat residents, families, and coworkers with courtesy, dignity, and respect.
  • Maintain confidentiality of resident information in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Perform other housekeeping duties as assigned.
