About The Position

Responsible for performing work aimed at preventing the spread of any diseases by thoroughly cleaning and sanitizing areas, properly disposing of hazardous waste, and efficiently sterilizing equipment and apparatuses. This role is crucial in maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary environment within the hospital, aligning with organizational guidelines and infection control standards.

Requirements

Requires manual dexterity using fine hand manipulations for routine cycle cleaning and chemical usage.
Basic communication skills in English to understand and speak for safe, efficient performance of job responsibilities.
Demonstrated ability to utilize supplies, tools, and equipment properly.
Familiarity with the operation of heavy-duty/electrical cleaning and laundry equipment.
Basic computer skills, which may be obtained through on-the-job training.

Participates in a minimum of eight unit/department meetings annually.

Responsibilities

Performs cleaning duties in alignment with the organization and according to pre-established schedules and infection control guidelines.
Completes waste stream removal.
Cleans and services assigned areas according to established procedures.
Moves furniture, equipment, and supplies in and around Medical Center departments.
Performs a variety of cleaning duties to maintain the hospital in a neat, orderly, and sanitary condition.
Operates assigned equipment, such as floor machines and buffers.
Maintains assigned patient and non-patient areas in a clean, safe, and sanitary condition at all times.
