About The Position

SEM Haven, a 5-star long-term care facility, is seeking a full-time Day Shift Housekeeper. This role is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary environment for residents and staff. The Housekeeper will perform a variety of cleaning duties in resident rooms, common areas, and other facility spaces, adhering to strict infection control protocols and company policies. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to a high-quality living environment for elders.

Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
Housekeeping or laundry experience preferred.
Must be free from illegal use of drugs and free from use and effects of drugs and alcohol in the workplace.
Must pass drug screening and criminal background checks prior to hire.

Responsibilities

Cleans and disinfects all surfaces within assigned areas using approved chemicals.
Performs thorough room cleaning and bed scrubs according to schedule.
Cleans and disinfects all restrooms daily and as needed, including floors and bathing rooms.
Understands and utilizes SDS sheets.
Uses chemicals according to manufacturer's specifications and company policy.
Properly places and removes wet floor signs.
Changes mop water per policy and after cleaning isolation rooms or heavily soiled areas.
Uses proper body mechanics.
Replenishes supplies such as towels, toilet tissue, and soap in all areas.
Straightens and rearranges furniture; keeps common areas ready for show at all times.
Assists residents in keeping rooms neat and clean and reducing clutter.
Maintains a clean work area, including housekeeping and storage closets.
Thoroughly cleans vacated rooms immediately, including bed/mattress scrub and wipe down walls.
Checks curtains for soil and launders if necessary.
Ensures rooms are ready to show potential residents/families at all times.
Moves residents and belongings to new rooms when transferred within the home.
Cleans isolation rooms per policy using proper personal protective equipment.
Reports safety issues to the supervisor as soon as possible.
Wears gloves during cleaning and changes/washes hands per policy after each room.
Participates in committees and orientation of new hires.
Accurately records all completed assigned areas on the flow record.
