About The Position

St. Michael’s Hospital Avera is looking for individuals to join our positive and team-oriented organization. We look forward to hearing from you! This role is responsible for maintaining a clean work environment in assigned areas which may include, but not be limited to: patient rooms, terminals, offices, nurse's stations, clinic, laboratory, lounges, hallways, bathrooms, kitchen areas, elevators, and lobby areas. The Housekeeper supports the hospital's goal of excellence in patient care by facilitating positive employee relations and supporting department goals. They also provide care/service in accordance with regulatory and accrediting agencies standards.

• Ability to maintain confidentiality when dealing with data related to patients, physicians, co-workers and any other hospital information.

Responsibilities

• Maintains a clean/neat environment in working area. These areas may include, but not be limited to: patient rooms, terminals, offices, nurse's stations, lounges, hallways, bathrooms, kitchen areas, elevators, and lobby areas.
• Participates in all cleaning activities as assigned. These may include, but not be limited to: dusting, washing, waxing, drying, mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, moving furniture, and emptying trash.
• Keeps assigned area fully stocked with supplies such as paper towels, toilet paper, etc.
• Responsible for maintaining stock on individual cleaning carts including wet and dry supplies.
• May sort, wash, and accurately deliver linens.
• Washes beds and mattresses, and remakes beds after dismissal of patients.
• Maintain good customer relations at all times.
• Able to maintain confidentiality when dealing with data related to patients, physicians, co-workers and any other hospital information.
