About The Position

The Illinois Department of Corrections at Joliet Treatment Center is seeking an energetic Housekeeper. This role involves working with a diverse range of patients and individuals in custody, requiring patience and firmness. The Housekeeper will use cleaning equipment, chemicals, and supplies to clean and polish all surfaces, fixtures, furnishings, windows, and doors in assigned living areas. Requirements

  • Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of four (4) years of high school.
  • Requires the ability to pass the IDOC/IDJJ background check.
  • Requires ability to pass a drug screen.
  • Required to utilize digital technology, tools, platforms, and processes in managing and supporting various digital enhancements for greater efficiency, productivity, and digital transformation efforts within the department.
  • Applicants are required to abide by all vaccine and/or other medical standards as set out by the employer.

Responsibilities

  • Performs housekeeping duties on assigned living areas including all offices, lobbies, bathrooms, showers, activity/training rooms, break areas, hallways, auditorium, and conference rooms.
  • Performs housekeeping duties for the Administration building.
  • Cleans woodwork, toilets, washrooms, fixtures, ceilings and vents.
  • Maintains stocks of supplies and notifies supervisor when supplies become low.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
