About The Position

Performs general housekeeping tasks within the Family Healthcare offices and practices in order to maintain a clean, safe, sanitary, orderly, attractive, and healthy environment for patients, visitors, and staff. This position is directly supervised by the Facilities Manager. Supports and follows through with vision, mission, goals, and objectives of Family Healthcare of Hagerstown. Ensures that all patient areas are maintained daily in accordance with housekeeping Protocol. Completes all housekeeping tasks in an efficient manner and performs other related duties as assigned. Performs job responsibilities with attention to safety concerns relating to staff, equipment, and the facility. Demonstrates regard for, dignity toward, and respect for all patients, families, guests, and representatives of other organizations to ensure a professional, courteous, and responsive environment.

Requirements

  • Must have basic skills in environmental cleanliness and infection control.
  • Must possess physical ability to perform heavy duty cleaning including lifting up to 50 pounds and ability to work from step ladders.
  • Manual dexterity to operate heavy-duty equipment, i.e. high speed buffer, floor scrubbing machines, and carpet soil extractor.
  • Frequent periods of concentration with attention to details with frequent opportunity for diversification of tasks.
  • Must be able to follow written and oral instructions with general reading of instructions.
  • Sensory requirements include the ability to articulate and comprehend the spoken English language, in addition to being able to read and write the English language.

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Six months previous commercial building cleaning experience preferred.
