About The Position

Lehigh Valley Health Network (LVHN) is seeking a Full Time Housekeeper for the Evening Shift. This role involves cleaning and disinfecting according to established protocols, utilizing appropriate cleaning equipment. The Housekeeper performs housekeeping services for adolescents, children, adults, and geriatric patients. They will also assist in the overall facility cleaning to ensure that residents are provided with an uncluttered and orderly environment. Requirements

Less than 1 year of experience.
Ability to understand and follow instructions.
Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
Knowledge of equipment such as vacuums and commercial washers and dryers.
Must have basic phone and computer skills (email, texting, etc.).

Nice To Haves

High School Diploma/GED
1 year Prior housekeeping experience

Responsibilities

Performs basic tasks according to highly specific departmental policies and procedures in order to maintain an aseptic, clean, and attractive environment for the hospital.
Spot cleans walls, windows, furniture, and carpets.
Disinfects sinks, tubs, mirrors, toilets, urinals using proper disinfecting techniques.
Maintains adequate supply of soap, towels, toilet tissue, and other necessary items.
Makes beds; sorts and distributes linens.
Cleans and sanitizes all horizontal and lateral surfaces throughout the facility.
Offers suggestions to improve work methods or procedures and participates in the quality improvement process.
Utilizes cleaning chemicals properly and safely in accordance with department guidelines.
Keeps housekeeping carts and vacuums clean and in good working order.
Reports repairs or the need for replacements and follows up to ensure that the repairs meet facility standards.
