About The Position

Shea Medical Center is seeking a Full-Time Housekeeper to join their team. This position involves 32 hours per week during the day shift. The role is part of HonorHealth, a large nonprofit healthcare system in Arizona serving five million people in the greater Phoenix metropolitan area. Requirements

  • Less than High School - Required
  • Must: Be at least 21 years of age and Provide a current and valid Arizona driver's license and Have a Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) from the Department of Motor Vehicles obtained and reviewed by Human Resources and Successfully complete the next available, quarterly conducted, in-house training HonorHealth Defensive Driving Course and provide a certificate of completion.

  • For those environmental services tech positions that will be required to drive HonorHealth vehicles, incumbent must have a clean driving record as defined by HonorHealth Network Driver Qualification Policy Q-359 (available upon request) - Preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assures patient physical comfort by providing fundamental patient care services within scope of responsibilities.
  • Performs a wide variety of housekeeping and support functions for the patient care unit.
  • Stocks linens and supplies.
  • Cleans bathrooms, waiting areas, and common area space.
  • Transports trash and linen from collection points to designated areas.
  • Maintains cleanliness of patient care areas following established procedures, sanitation protocols and achieves satisfaction and quality standards for room and common area cleaning.
  • Executes checkout room cleaning per department guidelines.
  • Disposes of hazardous and infectious waste in compliance with protocols.
  • Performs morning and evening patient room rounds, inspects room, removes clutter, empties trash, refreshes bathroom.
  • Responds to patient service requests for housekeeping services and hospitality support.
  • Cleans common area space and waiting areas on the patient care unit.
  • Stocks linen and housekeeping supplies.
  • Cleans and sanitizes equipment as assigned.
  • Stages equipment for pickup.
  • Monitors corridors and keeps free from clutter.
  • Participates in patient safety rounding.
  • Monitors patient for signs of distress.
  • Alerts Nursing personnel when intervention or clinical monitoring is required.
  • Mixing of chemicals will be done according to directions, resulting in optimum cleaning. Performance without damaging surfaces as demonstrated by inspection.
  • Understands proper dilution rates of all chemicals used and reports all malfunctions to the dilution systems.
  • Operation of, preventative maintenance, cleanliness and repair of any equipment used by the department.
  • Department cleaning, equipment and housekeeping carts will be maintained in good working order as demonstrated through inspection.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
