About The Position

Responsible for cleaning and servicing assigned areas. Willing to perform routine, repetitive tasks on a continuous basis as assigned.

Requirements

• Able to read and write, how to measure cleaning solutions, and be alert to hazards.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
• Use of common housecleaning implements, such as mops, floor waxes, and scouring pads.
• Heavy physical effort (lift/carry up to 25 lbs).
• Prolonged or extensive standing and walking.
• Considerable reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching.
• Maybe required to work in precarious or high locations (ladders, scaffolding etc).
• Must be able to endure long hours of continuous work when called upon to do so.
• Pre-employment requirements include I-9, physical, positive background and reference check results, complete application, new hire orientation, pre-employment PPDs.
• Compliance with all mandated vaccinations and all boosters is a term and condition of employment.

Nice To Haves

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Previous cleaning experience in a hospital setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Cleans assigned areas by washing furnishings, and equipment and mopping floors with special cleaning solutions and disinfectants to prevent the spread of disease.
• Replenishes supplies of soap, towels, and other dispensable items.
• Gathers and disposes of trash, washes wastebaskets and large refuse containers, and relines with plastic bags.
• Uses damp, disinfectant-treated cloth and vacuum cleaner to dust windowsills, windows, blinds, floors, furniture, and equipment in an orderly fashion.
• Cleans and disinfects all fixtures, floors, mirrors, windows, doors and walls in bathroom.
• Maintains and submits orders to maintain an adequate inventory cleaning supplies.
• Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives quality assurance program, safety, environmental and infection control standards.
• Attends meetings as required and participates on committees as directed.
• Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
