The Housekeeper provides the skilled support services necessary for the proper housekeeping of the Independent Living Resident living quarters, staff offices, lounge areas, restrooms, activity rooms, and other common areas.

Requirements

Frequent lifting & moving.
Ability to lift, move, push, pull & transfer 50lbs with the physical capability to perform all job-related duties.

Responsibilities

Clean Independent Living Resident rooms, staff offices, Dining Room, lounge areas, restrooms, activity rooms, and other common areas using prescribed and established methods and procedures for vacuuming, dusting, sanitizing, and cleaning.
Operate floor maintenance equipment used to vacuum or shampoo carpet.
Apply prescribed procedures for infection control as related to housekeeping functions.
Report equipment or fixture malfunctions or failures for repair.
Assure housekeeping supplies are stored in an orderly manner.
Participate in all In-Service meetings as assigned or required.
Responsible to place or give proper warnings of hazardous conditions when cleaning, scrubbing, mopping, or vacuuming floors.
Responsible for notifying higher authority when hazardous conditions are present or when equipment is unsafe or in need of repair.
Responsible for guarding or protecting facility property within the realm of housekeeping operation or otherwise.
Responsible for safeguarding all confidential information.
Responsible to perform assigned duties without immediate supervision.
May be assigned to supervise other housekeepers of lessor seniority or experience.
Responsible for maintaining a positive attitude, full cooperation, and congenial association with residents, resident’s families, other departmental employees, inspectors, and vendors.
Follow all Spanish Cove and departmental policies and procedures. Comply with the Employees Code of Ethics.
Work overtime in case of emergency.
