About The Position

Hillcrest Health & Living is looking for a dependable, detail-oriented, and service-focused Housekeeper to join our team at Hillcrest Silver Ridge in Gretna, NE. As a Housekeeper, you will help bring that mission to life by keeping resident apartments and community spaces clean, orderly, safe, and comfortable while providing service that meets residents’ expectations. The position includes responsibility for daily and deep cleaning, infection prevention, proper chemical use, supply management, equipment care, and maintaining an environment that meets regulatory standards.

Requirements

  • Must be able to speak, read, and write English.
  • Must be able to independently lift up to 35 pounds.
  • Must be able to perform repetitive sitting, bending, standing, walking, reaching, lifting, and movement as needed.
  • Must be flexible and calm when working with residents, families, or team members in stressful situations.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail.
  • Must be able to safely utilize housekeeping equipment, cleaning chemicals, technology, and available resources.
  • Must follow established infection-control, chemical-safety, State Survey, and OSHA requirements.
  • Possible exposure to communicable diseases and bodily fluids.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous housekeeping, environmental services, custodial, hospitality, senior living, healthcare, or similar experience preferred.

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • At least one year of experience in housekeeping, environmental services, custodial work, hospitality, healthcare, or a similar position preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Clean resident apartments and community areas according to established schedules.
  • Dust, vacuum, and clean furniture, fixtures, and other surfaces throughout the community.
  • Complete scheduled deep cleaning and special cleaning projects as assigned.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and welcoming public spaces.
  • Keep appropriate housekeeping supplies stocked in resident apartments and public areas.
  • Respond promptly to unexpected spills, accidents, and other cleaning needs.
  • Follow appropriate handwashing, glove-use, and infection-control procedures.
  • Take appropriate precautions to prevent cross-contamination between areas of the community.
  • Safely use cleaning chemicals according to established procedures and Safety Data Sheet guidelines.
  • Maintain the community in accordance with State Survey and OSHA requirements.
  • Monitor housekeeping supply levels and communicate ordering needs to the Environmental Services Director.
  • Follow established cleaning and maintenance schedules for housekeeping equipment.
  • Empty vacuum bags, extractor waste containers, and clean housekeeping equipment as needed.
  • Help care for indoor plants within assigned areas.
  • Identify and communicate environmental, safety, or maintenance concerns to the appropriate team member.
  • Respond to resident needs and requests in a timely, positive, and professional manner.
  • Work collaboratively with other departments to maintain a clean, comfortable, and safe community.
  • Assist with additional housekeeping and environmental-services responsibilities as assigned.
