About The Position

The Housekeeper shall be responsible for cleaning common living areas and resident apartments in the community. This role involves overseeing the cleaning of the entire facility, with particular emphasis on common areas and apartment bathrooms. The position also includes operating laundry equipment, reporting maintenance needs and supply levels, and ensuring proper use and storage of cleaning products. Additionally, the Housekeeper will clean office areas, dust blinds and furniture, vacuum common areas and apartments, and maintain the cleanliness of bathrooms. The role requires attending in-services and staff meetings, maintaining resident privacy, and performing other assigned duties.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED
Ability to understand verbal and written instructions
Ability to complete assignments thoroughly and on time
Ability to work well with others as part of a team
Polite and courteous to all residents, visitors, co-workers and management team
Must be able to stand, walk, kneel, bend, grasp, push and pull for extended periods of time
Must be able to lift 25 lbs and carry heavy objects for up to 20 feet
Must wear designated uniform during work hours and maintain good personal hygiene
Must be willing to work a flexible schedule that includes weekends and holidays

Responsibilities

Cleaning common living areas and resident apartments
Overseeing cleaning of the entire facility, with particular emphasis on common areas and apartment bathrooms
Completing maintenance request reports when needed
Reporting deterioration or damage to the building and furnishings to housekeeping supervisor
Operating laundry equipment when needed
Reporting inadequate quantities of all supplies needed to perform duties to housekeeping supervisor
Using only approved cleaning products and ensuring that all cleaning supplies are properly stored at all times
Cleaning office areas when assigned
Dusting and cleaning all window blinds in the community
Dusting all furniture, book shelves, etc. in resident apartments and common areas
Vacuuming common areas and resident apartments
Keeping common area and resident bathrooms clean
Cleaning apartments at resident move-out
Attending required in-services and staff meetings
Maintaining resident privacy/confidentiality at all times
Following all policies regarding release of resident information
Other duties as assigned
