About The Position
The Laundry / Housekeeping Aide performs a variety of laundry and general housekeeping duties to ensure quality laundry services and to maintain the nursing home in a clean, sanitary, and odor-free condition. This role is essential in supporting resident comfort, dignity, and overall quality of care.
Requirements
- GED or High School Diploma required
- One (1) year of related experience preferred
- Ability to read and understand directions related to laundry and housekeeping procedures
- Basic math skills
- Ability to problem-solve and seek assistance when needed
- Occasional lifting and/or moving of up to 50 pounds
- Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, read, and hear
- Frequent use of industrial washers, dryers, and related laundry/housekeeping equipment
Responsibilities
- Ensure an adequate supply of clean linens is available at all times to support resident care and comfort
- Maintain linens in good condition; remove from service any items with holes, stains, or excessive wear
- Collect resident laundry daily or as needed
- Label new resident clothing items as required
- Sort, treat, wash, dry, and fold clothing and linens according to established procedures
- Deliver clean laundry items to resident rooms in a timely manner
- Follow all sanitary processes and infection control procedures related to laundry services
- Maintain inventory of laundry supplies and notify leadership when replenishment is needed
- Operate all laundry equipment and supplies safely and properly
- Report laundry equipment malfunctions or maintenance issues to the Administrator
