About The Position

Performs cleaning and housekeeping projects in accordance with department and hospital policies, including requirements for hand-washing, personal protective equipment, and other infection-control practices. The role includes removing regular and medical waste; cleaning and disinfecting bathrooms, fixtures, and patient rooms; carrying out scheduled cleaning; maintaining floor surfaces; completing assigned housekeeping projects; and attending monthly department meetings. Other duties consistent with the purpose of the job may be assigned.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two years of housekeeping experience, preferably in education, healthcare, and/or business and industry.

Responsibilities

• Remove regular and medical waste.
• Clean and disinfect bathrooms and fixtures according to departmental guidelines.
• Clean and disinfect patient rooms daily according to departmental guidelines.
• Perform scheduled cleaning, including high and low dusting, disinfecting surfaces, window cleaning, and dry and wet mopping.
• Maintain floor surfaces through dry and wet mopping, vacuuming, carpet shampooing or extraction, stripping, scrubbing, refinishing, and burnishing.
• Complete assigned housekeeping projects, such as cleaning stairwells, elevators, and doors.
• Attend monthly department meetings.
• Perform other duties consistent with the purpose of the job as directed.
