About The Position

Day Kimball Health is hiring for a per-diem Housekeeper to join our Environmental Services department on 2nd shift in Putnam, CT! This role involves cleaning and servicing building areas according to established procedures, moving furniture, equipment, and supplies, and performing various environmental services duties to maintain the hospital in a neat, orderly, and sanitary condition. The position requires a minimum of 32 hours per month and involves 2nd shift work, with weekends as needed.

Requirements

• Ability to operate cleaning devices, i.e., automatic floor equipment, buffers, commercial vacuums, mops and wringers, and other necessary tools, products and supplies.
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English sufficiently to perform the duties of this position.

Nice To Haves

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Prior experience performing cleaning operations in a hospital, industrial or office setting, with minimum three months training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Project work on floors using automatic floor equipment.
• Total patient room cleaning following established procedures.
• Moves equipment and furniture for relocation of offices, for cleaning and rearrangement.
• Trash removal and recycling. May collect hazardous/medical waste.
• Clean entrances and parking lot of debris and trash.
• Provides on-call coverage for weekends and holidays as scheduled.
• Responds to emergency codes.
