About The Position

CentraState Medical Center currently has an employment opportunity available for a Housekeeper. This role is responsible for performing cleaning duties and related services throughout both patient and non-patient areas, helping to maintain a safe, sanitary, and welcoming environment across the facility.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous housekeeping experience preferred.
  • Ability to understand oral/written instructions in English.

Responsibilities

  • Effectively performs a variety of housekeeping functions including mopping, dusting, sanitizing, wiping, scrubbing, buffing, and other manual jobs on floors, walls, beds, furniture, fixtures etc.
  • Operates floor-cleaning machinery to maintain hard flooring and carpets.
  • Collects and disposes of regular and medical wastes at loading dock.
  • Replenishes soap, paper towels, toilet paper and other supplies as needed.
  • Maintains housekeeping cart and equipment.
  • Hangs drapes and curtains and moves furniture as necessary.
  • Assembles set ups as requested by departments.
  • Distributes clean linen and collects and stores dirty linen for pick up.
  • Responsible for disinfecting and cleaning the following spaces to include, but not limited to: Public Waiting Areas, Cafeteria/Kitchen Settings, Personal offices and cubicle spaces, Outpatient Services Departmental Cleaning (Therapy, Radiology, Laboratory, etc), Bathrooms
  • Performs patient/resident room cleaning and discharge cleaning, including those areas contaminated or potentially contaminated with an emerging viral pathogen.
  • Performs terminal cleanings in Operating Room (OR) suites
  • Cleans and disinfects designated supply areas and scrub areas.
  • Adheres to Infection Control and departmental guidelines.
  • Completes assignments in timely manner and utilizes time effectively.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
