About The Position

St. Elizabeth Healthcare is hiring a Housekeeper Floor Tech to join their Florence Environmental Services Team. This full-time, first shift position involves performing semi-skilled and skilled cleaning duties, with a primary focus on all aspects of floor care, including stripping and applying new finishes, as well as carpet care such as vacuuming, spot cleaning, and deep extraction. The role also encompasses sanitation, safety, equipment maintenance, and adherence to infection control policies. The Housekeeper Floor Tech is expected to demonstrate respect, dignity, kindness, and empathy in all interactions and follow all applicable safety standards.

Requirements

Ability to read and write
Ability to be trained and follow directions
Ability to do heavy lifting up to 60 lbs.
6 months prior experience in hard floor restoring/restoration including carpet care.

Responsibilities

Performs restoration or project cleaning procedures to maintain the appearance of the building.
Stripping and refinishing floors, using industrial ride-on floor maintenance equipment.
Performs preventative maintenance on equipment.
Informs supervisor when supplies are needed before supply is exhausted.
Dust mops and damp mops or vacuums corridors to maintain their cleanliness and appearance.
Follows applicable steps required to perform duties to ensure safety for themselves and others, and to be in compliance with medical center, state, and federal safety standards.
Moves furniture and equipment as requested for relocation, redecoration, or restorative cleaning.
Performs daily cleaning procedures in non-patient and in-patient areas and restrooms as required by supervision to provide coverage during staff shortages.
Removes trash to the trash compactor or waste storage area to ensure proper disposal.
Responsible for the set-up of meetings and the distribution of audio visual equipment.
Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide services based on the applicable principles of growth and development over the life span of those they serve.
Attends in-service programs and completes Net Learning modules as required.
