About The Position

St. Elizabeth Healthcare is hiring a Housekeeper Floor Tech to join our Edgewood Environmental Services Team. This is a Full Time position with 40 hours per week, on the First Shift. Under the direct supervision of the Environmental Services Supervisor or Manager, the Floor Technician Attendant will perform semi-skilled and skilled cleaning duties. The primary responsibility is all aspects of floor care, including stripping existing floor finishes and applying new finishes. This role also encompasses all aspects of carpet care, from vacuuming and spot cleaning to deep extraction of carpeted surfaces. The position is responsible for sanitation, safety, equipment, and other items directly or indirectly affecting Environmental Services employees. Employees must adhere to infection control policies and standard precautions, demonstrating respect, dignity, kindness, and empathy in all interactions.

Requirements

Ability to read and write.
Ability to be trained and follow directions.
Ability to do heavy lifting up to 60 lbs.
6 months prior experience in hard floor restoring/restoration including carpet care.

Responsibilities

Performs restoration or project cleaning procedures to maintain a high appearance level of the building.
Stripping and refinishing floors, using industrial ride-on floor maintenance equipment.
Performing preventative maintenance on equipment.
Informing supervisor when supplies are needed before they are exhausted.
Dust mopping and damp mopping or vacuuming corridors to maintain cleanliness and appearance.
Following applicable safety procedures and precautions; reporting safety concerns and incidents.
Moving furniture and equipment as requested for relocation, redecoration, or restorative cleaning.
Performing daily cleaning procedures in non-patient and in-patient areas and restrooms as required by supervision to provide coverage during staff shortages.
Removing trash to the trash compactor or waste storage area for proper disposal.
Responsible for the set-up of meetings and the distribution of audio visual equipment.
Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide services based on applicable principles of growth and development over the life span of those they serve.
Attends in-service programs and completes Net Learning modules as required.
