About The Position

We are looking to add a Housekeeping Lead to our Environmental Services team in Ontario, Oregon. As a Lead, you will be responsible to help to manage our Environmental Services colleagues to ensure cleanliness and to promote a clean, safe and pleasant environment in the most efficient and cost-effective manner possible. You'll prepare patient rooms by replenishing supplies, cleaning the floor, making the bed, and more. Housekeepers collect, store, and dispose of numerous medical-related items from patient treatment areas, and may also perform project work such as cleaning carpets and refrigerators. Our ideal candidate is self-motivated, trainable, and friendly. Not only will you work to provide a clean and safe environment for staff, visitors, and patients within the hospital and enhance the appearance of the facility, you will need to be able to work in Epic, our electronic health records software. Our ideal candidate must have one year of relevant work experience. He or she will need to preserve confidential information, maintain knowledge of cleaning chemicals, and comply with safety standards. He or she will also need to be comfortable working around blood and bodily fluids (with the use of personal protective equipment). The ability to communicate with colleagues, patients, and visitors with a respectful and caring attitude is essential!

Requirements

  • One year of relevant work experience.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Certification as a Certified Healthcare Environmental Services Technician (CHEST) through the Association for Healthcare Environment preferred within 1 year of hire, required within 2 years of hire.
