About The Position

Millwood Hospital, a UHS affiliated hospital, is a 134-bed mental health facility providing inpatient and outpatient mental health and chemical dependency treatment. Since 1971, Millwood has offered care to children, adolescents, adults, and senior adults. Located in Arlington, TX, the hospital is accredited by The Joint Commission and is part of Universal Health Services, Inc. The RN House Supervisor is responsible for complete facility operations during their assigned shift, including supervising nursing and clinical staff and ensuring accurate and timely patient care. This role oversees patient care for ages preschool through geriatrics. Additionally, the House Supervisor, along with Nurse Managers, is responsible for monthly data collection related to Core Measures and submitting this information to the Director of PI/Compliance. New hires must attend Full Hospital and Departmental orientations: Week 1: Monday - Friday; 8 AM - 5 PM; Week 2: Monday - Thursday; 7:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree from an accredited program in professional nursing is preferred; or equivalent combination of related education and experience is required.
  • A minimum of three (3) years experience in an acute hospital setting; preferably in a psychiatric facility.
  • Supervisory/managerial experience preferred.
  • Currently licensed to practice by the Texas State Board of Nursing.
  • CPR certification.
  • Training in appropriate use of seclusion and restraints (CPI) prior to on the unit orientation.
  • Must pass a medication administration exam.

  • Supervisory/managerial experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assume responsibility for complete facility operations during the assigned shift.
  • Supervise nursing and clinical staff.
  • Ensure that patient care is provided in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Supervise the care of patients ranging in age from preschool through geriatrics.
  • Collect monthly data related to Core Measures.
  • Submit Core Measures data in a timely manner to the Director of PI/Compliance.
