Requirements

  • Registered Nurse - Diploma, ADN or BSN
  • Current licensure in the State of Texas to practice professional nursing.
  • Current BLS Certification

Nice To Haves

  • Three to five years of progressive management experience

Responsibilities

  • Assisting in the organization and administration of clinical services in order to ensure competent patient care delivery.
  • Directing and supervising all hospital activities in the absence of the Department Manager.
  • Assisting in coordinating the placement of nursing personnel on all units to ensure safe quality care with maximum utilization of personnel skills.
  • Demonstrating the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on his or her assigned unit.
  • Demonstrating knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possessing the abilityCurrent to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his or her age-specific needs, and to provide the care needed as described in the department's policies and procedures.
  • Functioning as a resource to all areas of the hospital and assuming first line management responsibilities for hospital services.
