About The Position

CoxHealth is seeking an experienced House Supervisor to serve as the operational leader for the hospital during their shift. This role involves leading through rapid responses, code teams, behavioral and safety events, staffing escalations, and patient flow challenges. The House Supervisor will utilize critical thinking and clinical judgment for real-time decision-making, acting as a trusted resource and mentor for charge nurses, frontline staff, and department leaders. Collaboration with various departments such as ICU, Emergency Department, inpatient units, procedural areas, security, and ancillary teams is essential to ensure exceptional patient care. This position offers autonomy, respect, and the opportunity to influence hospital-wide operations and patient outcomes, while gaining experience in crisis management, emergency preparedness, and incident command. The role also supports patients and families during critical moments and provides leadership development opportunities, continuing education support, and cross-campus collaboration.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
  • RN License active in the state of Missouri
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and multitasking
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and critical thinking
  • Proficient computer skills with Microsoft Office
  • Ability to efficiently use the electronic medical record and staff scheduling program
  • Working knowledge in human relations, customer service, inventory management

Nice To Haves

  • At least one year in area of specialization and management experience in the inpatient setting (i.e. charge nurse, assistant nurse manager)
  • Five years of clinical experience

Responsibilities

  • Facilitation of patient throughput.
  • Implementation of operational plan surrounding scope of care or service in relation to the mission, vision, and values of the organization.
  • Address system issues to facilitate the provision of quality efficient care.
  • Provide oversight and management of operational, regulatory, and business processes across nursing services.
