About The Position

The House Person is expected to provide excellent customer service to all guest they encounter. Excellent service requires offering Ultimate Service with a smile and promoting the brand standards we are known for – uncompromised service with a focus on guest satisfaction. This position is responsible for the overall guest experience with regard to the cleanliness of the hotel, whether that be in guest rooms or common areas.

Requirements

  • Ability to effectively communicate with staff and guests of varied cultural and ethnic backgrounds
  • Ability to carry out specific oral or written instructions (frequently following a repetitive structured routine)
  • Willingness and ability to adapt as necessary to meet business demands
  • Focus on guest satisfaction and project this desire through positive interaction with guests while striving to provide an excellent experience for all guests, both internal and external
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in both verbal and written form
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to climb stairs
  • Must be able to thrive in a fast-pace environment
  • Must be able to use a ladder and step stool
  • Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds frequently and 25 pounds periodically
  • Must be able to pull up to 25 pounds occasionally
  • Must have visual acuity to distinguish between objects both near and far (with or without corrective lenses)

Responsibilities

  • Complete all brand required training
  • Complete all required Safety & Health training
  • Perform a combination of tasks to keep hotel premises in clean, organized, and well-stocked, thereby contributing to a pleasant and positive guest experience
  • Clean rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, locker rooms, and other work areas
  • Abide by the recommended safe handling instructions as found on the Safety Data Sheets (SDSs) when using chemicals
  • Move/arrange furniture and dust/polish furniture, metalwork, and equipment
  • Sweep, scrub, wax, and polish floors using brooms, mops, and powered scrubbing and waxing machines
  • Clean rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies, using vacuum cleaner
  • Collect soiled linens for laundering, deliver to the laundry room, and store clean linen supplies in linen closet.
  • Clean bathrooms and replenish with supplies
  • Refurnish guest rooms with supplies, towels, and other supplies as required. Supplies cleaning cart with appropriate supplies for shift
  • Wash walls, ceiling, windows, door panels, window sills and woodwork; washes windows, door panels, and sills
  • Empty wastebaskets and empty and clean ashtrays
  • Transport trash and waste to disposal area
  • Perform any job-related duties as requested by supervisor
