About The Position

The House Manager plays a dual role: providing direct support to individuals with developmental disabilities and serving as the on-site supervisor for a residential group home. This position ensures a safe, nurturing, and structured living environment while overseeing daily operations, supervising direct support professionals (DSPs), and coordinating care services. The House Manager helps residents achieve greater independence and quality of life while ensuring the home remains compliant with all state, federal, and agency regulations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 1–2 years of experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities in a residential setting.
  • Knowledge of state and federal regulations related to developmental disability services.
  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record; ability to transport residents.
  • CPR/First Aid certification (or ability to obtain).
  • AZ Level one Fingerprint Clearance Card
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.

Nice To Haves

  • associate or bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Social Work, or related field preferred.
  • 1-2 Years prior leadership or supervisory experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide hands-on support with activities of daily living (ADLs), including personal care, hygiene, meal preparation, medication administration, and transportation.
  • Promote residents’ physical, emotional, and social well-being through individualized care plans.
  • Assist residents in developing life skills, community participation, and personal goals.
  • Monitor and document changes in health, behavior, or needs, and report accordingly.
  • Maintain a positive, person-centered approach that respects individual rights and dignity.
  • Act as supervisor for all group home staff, including DSPs, relief staff, and interns.
  • Assist with onboarding, training, and scheduling of team members.
  • Ensure staff follow care plans, daily routines, and agency policies.
  • Provide coaching, support, and performance feedback.
  • Maintain staff coverage to meet licensing and safety requirements.
  • Oversee daily operations including meals, supplies, transportation, and maintenance.
  • Ensure compliance with state developmental disability services regulations and agency standards.
  • Maintain accurate documentation: medication logs, incident reports, staff records, and resident files.
  • Coordinate with families, healthcare providers, case managers, and outside agencies to support holistic care.
  • Assist residents with personal budgeting and money management, when applicable.
  • Monitor household spending in line with agency guidelines.
  • Submit required reports and updates to supervisors in a timely manner.
