About The Position

We are a dynamic family of four, with children ages 4 and 10 months. Family time is incredibly important to us, but with both parents working full-time, we need a reliable and self-sufficient individual to manage the day-to-day operations at home, so we can focus on our kids. The mother works from home with occasional travel, and the father often travels four days a week for work with a varying schedule.We're looking for support, especially during times when it's just two sets of hands instead of four. We're seeking someone who can come in with expertise, take charge, and develop and implement systems that will work for us. Having recently moved, we’re eager to create a more organized, efficient home with smoother day-to-day management. We also have a small dog (15 pounds) that needs regular grooming and care.

  • Infant and child CPR/first aid certification (family will cover costs)
  • Patient, kind, and positive, able to maintain a calm demeanor and work with flexibility in our busy household.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with an ability to establish systems to keep things running smoothly.
  • A self-starter, proactive and able to take initiative without needing constant supervision.
  • A good communicator, able to handle the nuances of a family with a busy schedule.
  • Flexible and adaptable to changing schedules and family dynamics, especially during travel times.
  • Experienced with childcare and meal prep (help with baby-led weaning and dietary restrictions for picky eaters).
  • Comfortable working independently, while also being a reliable support when both parents are present.

Responsibilities

  • Household Management & Organization: Create and maintain household organization systems (closets, storage, pantry, toys, etc.).
  • Reset and tidy rooms daily including kitchen, playroom/art room, and kids’ bedrooms.
  • Manage seasonal swaps (clothing, bedding, etc.) and prepare for family events, holidays, and guest stays, as needed
  • Oversee household schedules and calendars, including coordination with service providers (cleaners, landscapers).
  • Organize special projects like toy rotation, basement organization, and kids' play areas.
  • Inventory Management & Errands: Track and restock pantry, fridge, and toiletries; manage household supply lists.
  • Run errands: grocery shopping, dry cleaning, returns, gift shopping.
  • Handle package pickup, mail sorting, and deliveries.
  • Meal Planning & Preparation: Plan and prepare healthy meals/snacks for adults and kids (5 dinners/week, including baby-led weaning for the youngest).
  • Batch prep healthy meals making enough for leftovers and lunches.
  • Follow dietary needs and family preferences (protein, fiber, veggie-forward; no seafood).
  • Grocery shopping and kitchen tidiness post-prep.
  • Laundry & Linen Care: Manage laundry (clothing, bedding, towels); ensure it is well-organized and folded.
  • Coordinate and manage dry cleaning pick up and drop off.
  • Refresh linens and keep laundry areas tidy.
  • Pet Care: Walk and feed the family dog (keep boiled chicken prepared to add in dog’s food).
  • Administer monthly medications and keep pet supplies stocked and organized.
  • Schedule and coordinate vet and grooming appointments.
  • Family Support & Child Assistance: Help with school pickups, drop-offs, and light supervision of kids.
  • Unpack and prepare backpacks, lunches and bottles each day.
  • Provide backup childcare, particularly when father is traveling for work.
  • Support with organizing kids’ clothing, toys, and other personal items.
  • Deep Cleaning & Special Projects: Coordinate occasional deep cleans with house cleaners (e.g., fridge, oven, baseboards).
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in specific areas (entryway, garage, mudroom, basement).
  • Assist with re-organizing kids' play areas, pantry, basement, garage, and closets. Develop and maintain organization systems.
  • Assist with updating the eldest daughter's room (decor, furniture, storage, etc.)
  • Oversee outdoor spaces and seasonal maintenance needs (resetting and cleaning outdoor sunroom and deck, as needed).
  • Administrative & Personal Assistant Support: Coordinate with travel agent to plan and schedule family trips.
  • Coordinate household logistics and reminders (appointments, school events, etc.).
  • Help with light administrative tasks as needed.
