About The Position

The Houseperson plays a key role in preparing vacation rental properties and maintaining clean, safe, and welcoming indoor and outdoor spaces for guests. This position supports the housekeeping and operations teams by maintaining common areas, inspecting guest units before arrival, replenishing amenities, and reporting maintenance concerns. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, and enjoys working both indoors and outdoors.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • 1 year proven experience in hospitality (housekeeping, vacation rental, hotel)
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize daily tasks.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Good communication skills and a positive attitude.
  • Ability to use technology (e.g., tablets, iPads) to complete work assignments and report maintenance issues.
  • Flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
  • Frequently walk, stand, bend, reach, climb stairs, kneel, and lift.
  • Lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Safely operate cleaning equipment and basic power equipment such as blowers and pressure washers.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain clean, attractive outdoor areas by sweeping, blowing leaves, and removing sand and debris.
  • Arrange and clean outdoor furniture, tables, chairs, umbrellas, grills, and fire pits.
  • Pressure wash outdoor surfaces, furniture, and common areas as scheduled.
  • Water plants and maintain landscaped areas.
  • Inspect and clean guest bicycles.
  • Inspect parking lots and dumpster areas for cleanliness.
  • Empty trash receptacles and pick up litter throughout the property.
  • Report maintenance concerns such as broken equipment, lighting outages, or safety hazards.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and guest-ready pool area.
  • Clean the pool deck, umbrellas, outdoor shower, and surrounding areas.
  • Skim the pool to remove debris.
  • Ensure pool restroom is clean and stocked with supplies.
  • Verify that pool lights, water features, and equipment are functioning properly.
  • Report maintenance issues promptly.
  • Conduct final inspections of units to ensure each vacation rental is guest-ready.
  • Verify air conditioning, ceiling fans, lights, and appliances are functioning properly.
  • Inspect washers and dryers for cleanliness.
  • Report maintenance concerns or room deficiencies before guest arrival.
