About The Position

The Hourly warehouse worker with Fort Smith Public Schools is a part-time, temporary position. This role involves handling and delivering frozen and grocery orders to school sites, loading and unloading food and supplies, and pulling orders for delivery. The position requires physical stamina for lifting, carrying, and prolonged standing, walking, and other movements. The worker must also maintain emotional control and professional relationships.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • CDL preferred but not required.
  • Work experience in the food-service industry is preferred.
  • Ability to deal effectively with child nutrition staff
  • Drivers must have a good driving record.
  • Must have the ability to lift at least 40 pounds, stand 5-6 hours, and perform all tasks involving lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling.
  • Ability to endure prolonged standing, walking, sitting, kneeling, occasional reaching above the head or the shoulders, bending, squatting, and kneeling.

Responsibilities

  • Handling and delivering both frozen and grocery orders to school sites.
  • Loading and unloading of food and other supplies from delivery trucks throughout the day.
  • Pulling orders as assigned to each school for delivery.
  • Ability to drive a cargo van if requested.
  • Maintain emotional control under stress.
  • Maintain a professional relationship with students, faculty, administration, and community patrons.
  • Perform other duties as assigned
