About The Position

Human Resources announces a vacancy for an Hourly Clerical Assistant at Arlington Community High School. The Hourly Clerical Assistant provides administrative and program support to ensure smooth and efficient operation of the office.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED (Associate Degree preferred)
• Courses in business and office practices
• Minimum of two years’ responsible clerical experience, preferably in an education-related setting
• Excellent human relations skills; ability to maintain effective working relationships with other employees at all levels, including students, parents, and the public in a courteous and tactful manner
• Excellence in business English grammar, spelling, and punctuation
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
• Keen understanding of computer software, browsers, and operating systems
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
• Skills working with data in spreadsheets (Microsoft Excel)

Responsibilities

• Providing administrative support for the day-to-day operations
• Coordinating communications with families, schools, Office staff, and external partners
• Drafting correspondence and notifications
• Managing student records, program documentation, tracking systems, and databases
• Assisting with data collection in Microsoft Excel
• Tracking tasks and following up on work in progress to ensure timely completion
