About The Position

The Rec Room is a revolutionary new entertainment concept in Canada, featuring a wide range of attractions including simulation games, redemption gaming, luxury bowling, billiards, shuffleboard, ping pong, and an auditorium-style venue for live entertainment. It also offers an upscale casual dining environment with an open kitchen, a contemporary menu, and an "eatertainment-style" concept in the games area. A large center bar area with an adjacent stage serves as a gathering spot for watching major events. The Rec Room integrates a cutting-edge interactive technology platform to enhance the guest experience. This position is for The Rec Room Seasons of Tuxedo in Winnipeg, Manitoba, reporting to the General Manager.

Requirements

  • High-School Diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent.
  • Minimum 1-2 years Bartending experience.
  • Knowledge of drink recipes.
  • Ability to handle large crowds.
  • Demonstrated time management and organizational skills.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule including days, nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.
  • Experience in all aspects of customer service and people management.
  • Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals.

Nice To Haves

  • Completed Bartending classes preferred.
  • Current provincial Smart Serve Certification considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares alcoholic drinks for patrons according to standard recipes and guest preferences.
  • Checks identification of guests to ensure they meet the minimum drinking age.
  • Takes drink orders, serves drinks, and collects payment using a POS system.
  • Fills drink orders placed by waitresses for guests.
  • Arranges bottles and barware, washes glasses, and cleans the bar area.
  • Removes empty bottles and trash, and replaces empty beer kegs.
  • Stocks the bar with liquor bottles, mixed drink ingredients, and other bar supplies from the storeroom.
  • Keeps track of wines, beers, liquors, and other supplies, and orders bar supplies.
  • Mixes ingredients to prepare cocktails and other drinks.
  • Pours wine and beer.
  • Serves food to guests seated at the bar.
  • Determines when a customer has had too much alcohol, stops serving, and ensures a safe ride home is arranged.
  • Cleans up after guests and cleans the work area.
  • Arranges bottles and glasses to make attractive displays.
  • Cleans, slices, and pits fruit for garnishing drinks.
  • Monitors and maintains an inventory of supplies.
  • Performs physical activities such as lifting and stooping.
  • Refuses service, arranges a taxi, or calls the police if necessary.
  • Handles and moves objects, such as glasses and bottles, using hands and arms.
  • Other duties as required.
