About The Position

As a Hotel Security Guard, you'll be the face of safety and service, building positive relationships with guests, visitors, and staff while helping ensure a secure and comfortable experience for everyone on the property. This is more than a traditional security role. We're looking for someone who combines strong situational awareness with exceptional customer service skills. You'll thrive in a fast-paced hospitality environment, acting as a visible presence, responding proactively to changing situations, and contributing to the overall guest experience with professionalism, sound judgment, and a service-first mindset.

Requirements

Be authorized to work in Canada
Hold a valid BC security license
Advanced Security Training (AST) Certificate - Required
Exceptional customer service skills
Minimum 6 months of security experience
Strong report writing and technology skills
Good eyesight and excellent ability to maintain focus
Physically able to stand, patrol and walk for extended periods
Alert, detail-oriented, with strong situational awareness
Proficient in basic phone & computer skills

Nice To Haves

First aid certification - an asset

Responsibilities

Customer service duties like welcome, check identification, and guide visitors
Manage access control
Conduct foot patrols to identify potential risks
Inspect security equipment and report any maintenance needs
Address incidents, provide first aid, and coordinate with emergency teams
Write incident reports and communicate security concerns
Monitor the hotel entrance and maintain a visible security presence.
Identify and remove unauthorized or disruptive individuals in a professional manner.
Use handcuffs only as a last resort when escorting individuals off-site.
Ensure continuous lobby coverage
Limit cellphone use to required hourly check-ins with Garda Control; headphones/earbuds are not permitted during shifts.
