About The Position

This position is a Dual Property position. Hotel and maintenance experience a HUGE PLUS! You have always been good at working with your hands as well as with equipment and like the challenge of keeping everything in good working order. You also like people, so interacting with guests and coworkers is something you enjoy. As a highly skilled worker, you will maintain the hotel’s guestrooms, public spaces and back of house areas including but not limited to HVAC, electrical and plumbing – all with the least mess and inconvenience to all.

Requirements

  • At least three years of practical experience in one or more of the technical trades (HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, electrical, etc.)
  • Trade school or related college coursework preferred.
  • Previous experience in customer service and hotels is preferred.
  • Any license the property may require is essential.
  • Ability to work with the various tools and other equipment utilized in the department.
  • Good communication skills, with fluency in English preferred.
  • Ability to perform heavy work - exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 50 pounds of force frequently and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time and walk long distances.
  • Ability to bend, stretch, twist or reach with your body and arms.
  • Ability to work under variable temperatures and noise levels.
  • Near vision - the ability to see details at close range.
  • Ability to climb stairs and descend stairs in a timely fashion without fatigue.
  • Ability to move quickly and agilely if a situation requiring quick assistance arises.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the physical operation of the hotel including building structure, fixtures, refrigeration, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, plumbing, water treatment, electrical systems and grounds.
  • Support the mission of a safe, secure and comfortable guest environment from a physical plant perspective, as well as a positive guest and employee experience.
  • Keep on top of preventive maintenance to protect every aspect of the property, from hotel rooms and equipment to the kitchen, laundry, etc.
  • Respond swiftly and effectively to any emergency that might arise during your shift.
  • Assist when other departments have a need.
  • Follow your hotel’s established safety and security policies & procedures.
  • Anticipate problems and call management as needed.

Benefits

  • Up to $22.50 per hour (based on experience)
