About The Position

This position is for an Engineering Enthusiast / Maintenance Technician at the Canopy Jersey City Arts District. The role is responsible for maintaining hotel equipment and facilities, completing maintenance requests, and ensuring a safe, efficient environment for guests and staff.
Requirements
- Strong problem-solving and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment
- Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems
- Professional appearance and attention to detail
- 1–2 years of maintenance or engineering experience
Responsibilities
- Respond to guest maintenance requests promptly
- Perform repairs on electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general equipment
- Troubleshoot and maintain hotel systems and tools
- Complete and track work orders using the property management system
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas
- Monitor safety systems (e.g., fire alarms) and respond to emergencies
- Assist with inventory, supplies, and preventive maintenance
- Ensure guest safety, privacy, and satisfaction
- Support team members and train staff when needed
