About The Position

Warwick Hotel San Francisco is seeking a Part-Time Maintenance Technician to assist with quarterly Preventative Maintenance (PM's) for major equipment such as ice machines, stoves, and Air Conditioners (AC), as well as flooring. Responsibilities include repairing walls, painting, furniture touch-ups, and performing basic plumbing and electrical tasks. All issues must be addressed promptly with guest and employee safety as a priority. This is a part-time temporary position covering a medical leave for approximately three months, with the potential to become a Full Time Permanent position based on hotel needs. Opportunities for additional hours may arise if willing to work in other hotel areas, including janitorial services. Hours are dependent on hotel occupancy, with an average guarantee of 24 hours per week. In December, full-time hours (40 per week) are required to cover for a colleague on vacation, including weekends, with days off during the week. Applicants must be available for full-time work in December and weekends.

Requirements

• Must be good at using hand and power tools.
• Troubleshoot equipment failures and be able to use online resources for help.
• Must know how to patch a hole the correct way for any wall surface.
• Painting - Preparing, sanding, cleaning, and using the correct painting methods.
• Be able to change a toilet and repair any drain.
• Be able to change a shower valve, toilet valves, faucets, and shower heads.
• Basic electrical knowledge (changing an outlet, bulbs, ballasts, some soldering is helpful but not required).
• The ability to use a computer for emails, placing an order as needed, and for research.
• Be able to walk around a lot, lift up to 40lbs as needed, be able to climb stairs with no issues, bend, twist, etc.
• Background check required.
• Reliable means of transportation required to get/from work.
• References will be required.

Nice To Haves

• Some soldering experience is helpful, not required.

Responsibilities

• Finish all quarterly Preventative Maintenance (PM's) for all major equipment, ice machines, stoves, Air Conditioners (AC), and flooring.
• Repair walls, paint, furniture touch-ups.
• Perform basic plumbing and electrical jobs.
• Handle all issues with urgency and with the guests/employee's safety in mind.
• Be open to working in other areas of the hotel, including in a Janitorial capacity.
• Clean after yourself with every job using cleaning chemicals, rags, vacuums, etc.
• Perform basic floor maintenance, including grout, tiles, and washing carpet.
• Other duties as assigned by management, such as cleaning restrooms and public areas.
