About The Position

Assist in the efficient, safe, and professional operation of the hotel's building, grounds, equipment, and physical appearance to support an exceptional guest and employee experience. This position is responsible for maintaining and repairing the hotel's interior and exterior painted surfaces, conducting routine property walks to identify areas requiring attention, and responding promptly to engineering requests from guests and team members. In addition to painting responsibilities, this role supports the Engineering team with general building maintenance, preventative maintenance, repairs, and other projects as assigned. The ideal candidate has a well-rounded maintenance background and is comfortable working across multiple building trades in a fast-paced hotel environment.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Two (2) years of training or equivalent experience in one or more skilled trades.

Nice To Haves

  • Hospitality or hotel engineering experience strongly preferred.
  • Construction or commercial building maintenance experience preferred.
  • HVAC certification or related HVAC experience preferred.
  • Experience in multiple maintenance trades, including painting, drywall, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, or HVAC, preferred.
  • One (1) year of commercial painting experience preferred.
  • Multi-lingual a BIG plus!

Responsibilities

  • Communicate effectively with guests, team members, and other departments.
  • Respond professionally and promptly to guest requests, work orders, incoming calls, and radio calls.
  • Perform interior and exterior painting, drywall repair, patching, and surface preparation.
  • Conduct routine inspections and property walks to identify maintenance and cosmetic repair needs.
  • Assist with preventative maintenance, inspections, and general building repairs.
  • Complete daily engineering task sheets, preventative maintenance assignments, and required documentation.
  • Assist in training new Engineering team members on department procedures and responsibilities.
  • Assist with inventory, ordering, and stock control of engineering supplies.
  • Properly use and return shop tools, ladders, and testing equipment.
  • Follow established elevator policies and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) safety procedures.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe engineering workspaces.
  • Attend departmental meetings and follow all hotel policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
