About The Position

To achieve the long-range profitability of the facility and provide the optimal Guest services possible while operating within predetermined budgetary limitations. This role involves training, supervising, and scheduling Front Desk Clerks and the Night Auditor, ensuring smooth front office operations, and maintaining excellent guest relations. The supervisor acts as a liaison between various departments and enforces hotel policies.

Requirements

  • Thorough understanding of all operations of the front desk and ability to offer constructive suggestions.
  • Ability to meet the public in a friendly, courteous manner to maintain excellent Guest relations.
  • Computer experience.
  • Demonstrated leadership and motivational abilities.
  • Positive public relations attitude.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Accounting or bookkeeping experience.
  • High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED).
  • One to two years related experience.
  • Must have computer skills.
  • Must meet Tribal/State compact licensing requirements.
  • Must pass criminal background check.
  • Must submit to drug testing.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all functions of supervised positions.
  • Directly responsible for training, supervising, and setting schedules for the Front Desk Clerks and Night Auditor.
  • Assist and lead the Front Desk in achieving Front Office responsibilities.
  • Ensure all staff are punched in each shift and appropriate breaks are administered.
  • Monitor employee work hours to ensure no overtime is accumulating.
  • Maintain accurate reservations to maximize revenue and Guest return potentials.
  • Handle and follow up on all guests’ complaints and comments.
  • Check all daily arrival reservations and VIP lists, ensuring correct rooming and handling of special requests.
  • Alert the Hotel Manager of all VIP check-ins.
  • Maintain a good relationship with the housekeeping department to ensure high levels of communication.
  • Act as the liaison with sales, accounting, night audit, and front desk on all disputed guest charges and transaction deficiencies.
  • Attend all hotel staff meetings and management meetings as called by the Hotel Manager.
  • Maintain courtesy and service with commitment to superb Guest relations.
  • Ensure all front office personnel are aware of all emergency procedures.
  • Enforce and communicate hotel policies and procedures to the front desk staff.
  • Make operating saving costs and profit improvement recommendations to the Hotel Manager.
  • Maintain knowledge of all events in the property as a whole.
  • Attend and/or facilitate all mandatory meetings and training.
  • Maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • Be sensitive to Native American Culture.
  • Operate within the parameters of the Leech Lake Gaming Human Resource Policy, Departmental Policy Manual and all Tribal Internal Controls (TICs), and all other applicable regulations.
  • Secure the assets of Leech Lake Gaming and the Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
