About The Position

The DoubleTree by Hilton Charlotte Airport is seeking an ambitious Catering and Sales Manager to proactively develop banquet, catering, meeting, event, and group room business. This highly visible role is ideal for a motivated self-starter who excels at prospecting, building client relationships, closing business, and overseeing events from contract through completion. The successful candidate will bring a friendly, professional demeanor, strong attention to detail, and a collaborative team player mindset. You will partner with banquets, food and beverage, hotel operations, and revenue management to deliver successful events while achieving assigned sales and revenue goals.

Requirements

Must have at least two years of hotel sales experience.
Experience selling banquet space, meetings, events, catering services, and group room blocks.
Ability to manage multiple clients, events, deadlines, and revenue priorities with accuracy and consistent follow-through.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and company-approved reporting tools.
Valid driver's license in the applicable state.

Nice To Haves

Hilton Sales experience and Delphi knowledge preferred.
Experience using Delphi or a similar sales and catering system.
Previous experience managing both catering/event sales and group room revenue.
Experience coordinating events from contract through completion in a full-service hotel environment.

Responsibilities

Develop and execute a proactive sales plan to generate qualified banquet, meeting, catering, event, and group room opportunities.
Conduct consistent outside sales calls, prospecting calls, networking, client appointments, and follow-up activities to secure new business and grow assigned accounts.
Build and maintain strong relationships with corporate clients, meeting planners, social event contacts, associations, and community organizations.
Solicit, negotiate, and close banquet events, catering programs, meeting packages, and group room blocks that support hotel revenue and profitability goals.
Manage room revenue and production for designated group market segments and assigned accounts, including prospecting, account development, and retention.
Conduct professional site tours showcasing guest rooms, meeting and banquet space, catering options, and the hotel's location and service advantages.
Qualify leads, prepare proposals and contracts, and guide clients through the sales process from initial inquiry through event completion and post-event follow-up.
Create accurate and detailed Banquet Event Orders, event resumes, diagrams, and supporting documents.
Distribute event documentation and related information within required timelines to support successful event execution.
Oversee assigned events and serve as the primary client contact to confirm details, monitor execution, resolve concerns, and support a successful guest experience.
Partner with culinary, Food & Beverage, banquets, operations, and revenue management to develop competitive offers and coordinate successful event delivery.
Manage event details and client requests throughout the planning process while maintaining strong communication and follow-through.
Maintain complete and accurate account, contact, activity, lead, booking, event, and group history records in Delphi or the hotel's designated sales system.
Monitor booking pace, event revenue, room production, market trends, and competitive activity, adjusting sales strategies when appropriate.
Prepare accurate forecasts, activity reports, production reviews, event revenue reports, and end-of-month reporting in accordance with PAH Management SOPs.
Achieve established weekly sales activity goals and protect Prime Selling Time for direct revenue-generating efforts.
Analyze sales data, event revenue, account production, and market intelligence to support sound business decisions.
Take ownership of assigned revenue goals, sales opportunities, account development, and client relationships.
Approach all interactions with guests and associates in a friendly, courteous, and service-oriented manner.
Maintain a warm and professional demeanor when interacting with guests, managers, and fellow associates.
Work cooperatively with Culinary, Food & Beverage, Housekeeping, and other hotel departments.
Attend meetings and training as required by management.
Perform other reasonable duties as requested by management.
