About The Position

The Hyatt Place hotel in Downtown Columbia is seeking a full-time Breakfast Attendant to provide outstanding service to guests during the morning hours. This role is crucial to the hotel's mission of delivering exceptional service and ensuring guest satisfaction. The position requires early morning availability, including weekdays and weekends, with the breakfast service area needing to be set up by 6 AM daily.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 1 year of related experience working in a customer-facing position is required.
  • Ability to get to work on time as scheduled and work the early morning shift (breakfast area must be set up by 6 AM daily).
  • Ability to present a professional demeanor, both in appearance and communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to engage and interact with associates and guests.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks when needed.
  • Possess basic math, reading, and writing skills.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Basic knowledge of the proper use, maintenance, cleaning of industrial kitchen equipment, and food preparation.

Responsibilities

  • Provides excellent customer service by interacting with guests in an attentive, friendly, courteous, and service-oriented manner.
  • Prepares cold and hot breakfast items, such as cutting fruit/veggies, heating/cooking hot breakfast items, and preparing coffee and hot water.
  • Sets up the breakfast service area according to brand standards, including arranging serving dishes, utensils, food labels, plates, bowls, coffee, condiments, juice dispensers, and various food stations.
  • Monitors and maintains hot breakfast items every 30 minutes during service, ensuring proper temperature, replenishment, and adherence to brand standards.
  • Monitors and maintains cold, bakery, fresh, and packaged breakfast items every 30 minutes during service, ensuring proper temperature, replenishment, and adherence to brand standards.
  • Buses, clears, and cleans tables, washes utensils and dishes, cleans spills, and removes trash.
  • Completes closing duties, including storing goods, cleaning equipment and areas, restocking, and completing logs and checklists.
  • Takes inventory of food, beverage, and supply items, and informs management of purchasing needs and shortages.
