About The Position

Pyramid Global Hospitality is seeking a highly motivated, customer-focused Bartender to join their team at the Cambria Hotel Austin Downtown. The Bartender is responsible for delivering memorable hospitality to guests by building genuine connections and providing engaging service from greeting to departure. This role requires understanding guest needs, preparing beverages accurately and efficiently, and maintaining a positive, quick-thinking attitude. The Bartender will guide guests through the menu with descriptive selling, ensure accuracy in order taking, and manage the bar area effectively. Collaboration with other staff, resolving guest concerns, and timely bill presentation are key aspects of the role. Responsibilities also include requisitioning and stocking supplies, preparing garnishes, mixing drinks according to recipes, processing payments, and securing the bar at the end of the shift.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of bartending experience is required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong knowledge of mixology, wine and beverage service, with ability to quickly recall drink recipes and guest preferences from memory.
  • Able to work well together with a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to handle and count cash and process payments accurately.
  • Knowledge of key guest service behaviors and how to create a ‘wow’ experience.
  • Able to always maintain a clean and organized bar and restaurant area.
  • Ability to observe and adhere to all Health and Safety regulations and company guidelines for food handling, cross-contamination protocols, and sanitation.
  • Able to work in a busy high-pressure bar/restaurant environment, including exposure to various noise levels, alcohol, hot surfaces and large crowds.
  • Moves liquor, equipment, carts, and tubs weighing up to 25 lbs. regularly.
  • Moves through-out lobby bar, restaurant and kitchen areas, including extended lengths of walking and/or moving up and down stairs, for duration of shift.
  • Able to remain in a standing position, either stationary or walking, for entire shift.
  • Capable of frequent and repeated lifting, carrying, bending, stooping, and extending arms fully to perform essential job functions.
  • Able to perform repetitive motions, such as shaking and mixing drinks with both hands.

Responsibilities

  • Greet guests as they arrive or move about the bar area
  • Maintains proper and adequate set-up of the bar daily
  • Guide guests on their beverage journey through descriptive selling of the menu
  • Be accurate in your order taking, confirming all special requests
  • Be the master of the bar, understanding the details to enhance the conversation
  • Work collaboratively with other restaurant servers and kitchen/bar staff
  • Assist guests who have concerns to guide them to a resolution that leaves them happy
  • Finalize the experience through timely and accurate bill presentation
  • Requisitioning and stocking of all beer, wine, spirits
  • Responsible for maintaining stock, cutting, and storing of all fresh fruit and vegetable garnishes, juices, and other perishables daily to ensure product quality.
  • Mixes, garnishes, and presents drinks following standard ingredient recipes and practicing portion control.
  • Inputs orders into a register at the point of sale and creates a check for each guest
  • Locks up and stores all beverages, food and other equipment items, deposits cash drops and secures bank.
