About The Position

Hot Shot Driver needed to safely operate a 1 ton truck with a gooseneck trailer, transporting construction materials and machinery. This role requires adherence to safety regulations, accurate record-keeping, effective communication, and the ability to travel extensively. Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid Class A CDL with Tank endorsement.
Valid DOT Med Cert with Non-Excepted Interstate self-certification.
Knowledge of Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations and best practices for equipment transport.
Ability to operate equipment during loading and unloading processes.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
Basic mechanical skills for minor truck and trailer maintenance.
Willingness to travel to various job sites as needed.
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions with a high degree of accuracy.
Ability to read, understand and navigate using paper and/or digital maps.
Ability to sit for long periods of time.

Nice To Haves

3 years of experience operating and/or transporting construction equipment preferred.

Responsibilities

Safely operate a 1 ton with gooseneck trailer in a manner that reduces risk and liabilities.
Load and secure construction materials and machinery onto the trailer for transport in accordance with State and Federal regulations.
Accurately measure load dimensions and weight to ensure compliance with OS/OW permit requirements and State and Federal regulations.
Perform and properly document pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the truck and trailer to ensure they are in a safe and legal condition.
Maintain accurate records of trip details, including mileage, fuel consumption, and maintenance reports and hours worked.
Communicate effectively with project managers, equipment operators, and other team members to coordinate equipment transport and delivery schedules in a direct and friendly manner.
Adhere to Emery Sapp & Sons safety policies and procedures.
Perform basic maintenance and repairs on the truck and trailer when necessary.
Assist with loading and unloading equipment and materials at job sites as needed.
Occasional heavy lifting.
Extensive travel may be required.
Accurately navigate a truck and trailer using instructions, maps or GPS, to a wide variety of locations both on road and off.
Properly wear and safely use PPE.
Properly record hours worked using an ELD in compliance with Hours of Service regulations.
Documenting equipment pick up and deliveries.
Ensure accuracy of pickup and delivery.
