About The Position

My Green Lunch is looking for a self-motivated individual with a strong work ethic to join our team as a cook. This position will work primarily in our Line Cook area, but who will also help across the kitchen in all aspects of food prep/portioning. There is a possibility of this role becoming a full time permanent position.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience with hot and cold food preparation.
  • Excel at teamwork, show attention to detail, and demonstrate strong communication skills.
  • Proven work experience as a line cook, restaurant cook or catering cook for a minimum of 4 years
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be able to work quickly and precisely (ability to measure).
  • Ability to absorb and retain information quickly
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds
  • Ability to bend, stoop, and raise arms above head on occasion

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual in Spanish and English desired
  • Manager Food Handlers desired but not required
  • Have a food Handlers Permit

Responsibilities

  • Assist Kitchen managers with monitoring daily prep production
  • Ensure Safety and Sanitation rules are followed throughout the kitchen
  • Report to and follow Kitchen Managers instructions for hot food production
  • Check food for and ingredients for freshness
  • Ensure that all food and products are consistently prepared and served according to My Green Lunch recipes, portioning, and serving standards.
  • Clean work areas and take care of leftover food appropriately
  • Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers

  • Pay: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour
