Nucor Steel West Virginia is seeking a Hot Mill Process Engineer. The Hot Mill Process Engineer provides support role in the department's decision making in relation to operations and maintenance of the Hot Strip Mill and supporting equipment. This involves process development and technical support operations for the Hot Mill to ensure optimization of manufacturing processes for steel sheets, customer-specific requirements for new high-end quality steel sheets products, manufacturing reliability, operations, and maintenance requirements. Using data integration and statistical analysis, the Process Engineer monitors and analyzes the rolling process and equipment conditions to draw conclusions driving equipment maintenance, improvements, and upgrades. The Hot Mill Process Engineer develops and conducts technical training for the Hot Mill team as required for safe and effective mill operation to provide quality steel, on time. In addition to other duties, the Hot Mill Process Engineer assumes a leading role in process improvement, quality, and cost reduction efforts. Nucor Steel West Virginia is Nucor's new sheet mill with advanced steelmaking capabilities and lower carbon emissions. This is a greenfield project steel mill, that will employ 800 full-time teammates producing up to 3 million tons per year at one of the most technologically advanced sheet mills. This advanced manufacturing facility is to be located in the heart of the Appalachian Mountains in close proximity to both Huntington and Charleston, WV. This is an onsite position at our steel mill in Mason County, WV.
