Hot End Production Technician - Full Time
About The Position
Cardinal FG, a float glass manufacturer for residential windows in Portage, is looking for a Hot End Production Technician who works safely, has a strong work ethic, is dependable, has a positive attitude, and works effectively in a small team environment. A Hot End Technician works closely with the melting process of raw materials, makes adjustments to the furnace for proper melting of materials, uses cameras and computers to precisely make the glass into the appropriate width and thickness, and monitors the cooling process of the glass before it is scored into different sizes.
Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age to apply.
- High school diploma or its equivalent preferred.
- Basic math, computer and tape measuring skills.
- Able to safely lift at least 80 pounds.
- Must be able to bend, twist, squat, kneel, or stand for long periods of time.
- Clear understanding of the English language, both written and spoken.
- Pass a pre-employment physical ability test, background check, and drug screen.
- Reliable transportation.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
Responsibilities
- Works closely with the melting process of raw materials.
- Makes adjustments to the furnace for proper melting of materials.
- Uses cameras and computers to precisely make the glass into the appropriate width and thickness.
- Monitors the cooling process of the glass before it is scored into different sizes.
- Operate power industrial vehicles, once trained and certified.
