Hostler 10-hr
About The Position
The Yard Hostler shuttles equipment within the Distribution Center premises as needed. Working with another hostler, coordinate moves based on priorities directed by dispatch, shipping and receiving supervisors. Maintains a neat and orderly yard, anticipates trailer needs based on specific shifts. Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Safely operate yard tractor in professional manner Handle fast paced work environment Ability to drive in snowy or slippery conditions, as needed. Work in areas requiring exposure to varying temperatures, extreme heat or cold, and/or wet, damp, or drafty conditions. Work varying hours of the day as required. (Days, nights, weekends, and holidays) Fuel yard tractor and refrigerated trailers. Knowledge of refrigerated trailer operations. Record, report, and maintain trailer temperatures. Maintain working trailer inventory, anticipate shift needs. Work closely with dispatch, shipping, receiving, clean out building and security to ensure all trailer needs are met. Be able to prioritize trailer requests. Have a strong commitment to safety.
Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age
- Must have a valid driver’s license
- Must successfully complete Albertsons pre-employment background and drug screening
Nice To Haves
- Over the road driving experience, a plus
