About The Position

This position is responsible for greeting the customers as they arrive in the restaurant. Rotate seating between different stations to ensure even workloads for wait staff, answer the phone and take any carry-out/to-go orders for customers. They are to aid the servers in making desserts, bussing dishes and occasionally helping catch up the dish room on shifts were a dishwasher is not scheduled and as their work load allows. They are also responsible for baking the cinnamon rolls and cookies.

Requirements

A passion for working with guests as well as other staff.
High level of personal hygiene.
Able to work under pressure.
Able to answer multi-line phone.
Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

Greeting customers as they arrive in the restaurant.
Rotating seating between different stations to ensure even workloads for wait staff.
Answering the phone and taking carry-out/to-go orders.
Assisting servers in making desserts and bussing dishes.
Helping with the dish room on shifts where a dishwasher is not scheduled, as workload allows.
Baking cinnamon rolls and cookies.
Creating a positive impression for customers entering the restaurant.
Maintaining a clean front of the house, including cleaning windows, mopping the front entrance, ensuring mats and cones are in place, and keeping the front area clean and clutter-free.
Informing wait staff of parties being sat in their station.
Providing families with children coloring sheets, crayons, balloons, and high chairs when needed.
Making wait staff aware of any special needs customers may require.
Assisting wait staff in making desserts and milkshakes if workload permits.
Stocking the dessert and to-go area.
Checking with management about any catering or to-go orders that may require cookies/dessert trays.
Working with deli staff to ensure to-go orders are complete and ready on time.
Ensuring a smooth flow between customers being seated, picking up to-go orders, and paying at the register.
Accounting for all cash run-ups in retail.
