Responsibilities
- Greet and welcome guests warmly.
- Introduce guests to their server and answer questions.
- Handle guest complaints professionally.
- Manage seating charts and strategically seat guests to balance server workload.
- Monitor table status and coordinate turnover.
- Maintain an organized waitlist and quote accurate wait times.
- Manage reservations and phone inquiries.
- Use reservation/waitlist software to track guest flow.
- Communicate with kitchen and serving staff to coordinate service pace.
- Keep the entrance, host stand, and dining area tidy.
- Prepare menus and ensure they are clean and stocked.
