About The Position
The Host responsibilities include greeting guests, providing accurate wait times, and escorting customers to the dining and bar areas. This role requires solid organizational and people skills to ensure guests have a positive dining experience from arrival to departure. The Host must also be available to work in shifts and maintain a clean work area.
Requirements
- Excellent communication skills
- Available to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends
- Must have a current food handler’s card
- RBS card (if over 18 years of age)
- California workplace harassment training and/or any additional training required by law
Nice To Haves
- Restaurant experience desirable, but not required
Responsibilities
- Welcome guests to the restaurant with a smile
- Provide accurate wait times, monitor waiting lists and manage guest reservations
- Escort guests to assigned dining or bar areas
- Provide menus to guests and announce server’s name
- Greet customers upon their departure
- Coordinate with management about available seating options by updating table statuses on the tablet regularly
- Maintain a clean reception area and clean host stand
- Cater to guests who require extra attention (e.x. children, elderly)
- Answer incoming calls and address customer queries
- Assist management or server staff when necessary
