About The Position

The Canadian Niagara Hotels Group of Companies is seeking a Host/Hostess to join their team at Niagara Brewing Company. This role offers opportunities for learning and development within the hospitality industry. The Host/Hostess will be responsible for welcoming guests, managing seating, answering calls, taking reservations, and ensuring a positive dining experience.

Requirements

  • Previous experience coordinating booking, confirmation, and table allocations.
  • Great conversational skills and teamwork-oriented individual.
  • Positive and outgoing personality.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain professional composure at all times, regardless of issue, while performing multiple tasks with multiple guests/ items/products.
  • Previous equivalent experience in a dining room environment.
  • Outstanding attention to detail – both personal grooming/appearance and in properly identifying guest’s needs, demeanor, and level of required service attention.
  • Ability to quickly respond to changing work volume; high-energy level/speed.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Must be available holidays and weekends.

Responsibilities

  • Warmly welcome guests and escort guests promptly to their assigned dining area.
  • Manage the seating chart and flow of the guests in the dining area.
  • Provide accurate wait times to incoming guests if required.
  • Answer incoming calls to the restaurant and take reservations.
  • Check menus to ensure they are current, clean, plentiful, and accuracy of event signage.
  • Share menu knowledge to assist guests with questions and special requests.
  • Ensure place settings are appropriate and each guest has a napkin, clean silverware, and any other item that is part of the standard place setting.
  • Clean tables, complete closing duties and re-stock tableware and other supplies.
  • Thank every guest as they are leaving.
  • Attend daily stand-up meetings at start of shift.
  • Work safely and in compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation standards.
  • Perform any and all other tasks, which are assigned by management.
