Great Performances is seeking a highly motivated and talented individual to join their team as a Host at Dizzy's Club – Jazz at Lincoln Center. This role is responsible for creating a positive and welcoming experience for guests, ensuring smooth operations, and providing excellent customer service. Great Performances has been a leading catering, events, and hospitality company in the greater New York area for over four decades, known for its innovative menus, striking design, impeccable service, and commitment to sustainability and community. They provide food services in numerous New York City cultural institutions and are the nation's first caterer to own and operate an organic farm.

Requirements

• Previous work experience as a Host/Hostess in NYC
• Understanding of restaurant etiquette
• Familiarity with health and safety regulations
• Experience in managing reservations
• Demonstrable customer service skills
• Excellent communication skills (via phone and in-person)
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to monitor the entire dining and bar area
• Availability to work in shifts as needed
• Good physical condition to walk and stand during an entire shift
• Sense of urgency and Decorum

Responsibilities

• Greeting and welcoming guests as they arrive at the venue
• Provide accurate wait times and monitor waiting lists
• Manage voicemails
• Escort customers to assigned dining or bar areas
• Provide menus and announce waiter/waitress’s name
• Greet customers upon their departure
• Coordinate with wait staff about available seating options
• Maintain a clean reception area
• Cater to guests who require extra attention (e.g. children)
• Answer incoming calls and address customers’ queries
• Assists wait staff as needed
• Provide coat check service as needed
