About The Position
The Host is a key part of the guest experience at Burma Love Downtown in San Francisco. The role welcomes guests, sets the tone for a warm and welcoming atmosphere, and helps guide guests through a thoughtful dining experience with genuine service and exceptional hospitality. Hosts work with servers and management to coordinate seating and maintain dining room flow, share menu information and recommendations, and help create a positive, memorable experience.
Requirements
- Excellent verbal communication and positive interpersonal skills.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Strong multitasking and organizational skills in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to obtain a Food Handlers license, Sexual Harassment certification, and RBS (alcohol) certification before hiring or within two or more weeks of hiring.
Nice To Haves
- Six or more months of prior experience as a host.
Responsibilities
- Greet guests promptly, warmly, and professionally, and thank them as they leave.
- Coordinate seating with servers and management, maintain dining room flow, and accommodate special requests.
- Provide guests with menu information and recommendations.
- Set the dining room ambiance, including music, lighting, and cleanliness.
- Keep the Front-of-House area organized and clean.
- Address guest concerns promptly and escalate issues to management when necessary.
- Assist with reservation logs, table resets, and other administrative tasks as needed.
- Maintain current knowledge of promotions, events, and specials to communicate effectively with guests.
